      <description>STATEWIDE GA (01-JUL-08) The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) will maintain application announcements for municipal and industrial groundwater withdrawal permit applications for a minimum of (at least) 30 days from the posting date on the following permit types:&#xD;
1. New permit applications&#xD;
2. Modifications to existing permits which:&#xD;
 a) Increases water withdrawal and/or&#xD;
 b) Increase the number of wells&#xD;
 c) Any permit in the 24 county area outlined in the Coastal Georgia Water &amp; Wastewater Permitting Plan for Managing Salt Water Intrusion&#xD;
Application notifications are revised monthly near the first Tuesday of each month and are always open for public comment until the application is processed in some manner (approved, disapproved, withdrawn, etc.) and removed from the notification page.</description>

The proposed NPDES General Permits will authorize the designated construction activities to discharge storm water into waters of the State of Georgia.  The permit area of the proposed NPDES General Permits is statewide.  The NPDES General Permits would be valid for a maximum of five years.&#xD;

PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 2008-09 ML NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM PERMIT TO DISCHARGE TREATED WASTEWATER INTO WATERS OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA. NPDES permits are valid for a maximum of five years. Prior to expiration of an existing permit, a new application must be submitted and evaluated. An antidegradation review process is conducted as applicable for new or expanded point source discharges that are proposed. An alternative analysis comparing the proposed discharge alternative to a "no discharge" land application or urban reuse alternative is conducted. In all cases, existing instream water uses and the level of water quality necessary to protect the existing use is maintained and protected. Having reviewed such applications, the Environmental Protection Division is considering the issuance of NPDES permits to the following applicants, subject to specific pollutant limitations and special conditions.</description>
